Reflection on childhood and exposure to educational films, western intrusion on indigenous cultures and instinctual dance.  The actors, dancers and musicians interacted live with both the video and film projections (planned and improv.).   For details of production see links right.

Based on Stewart Brand's book, The Clock of the Long Now.  Topics involved the acceleration of technology, short-attention span, multi-tasking, dominance of commerce, globalization, etc.  The installation was composed of 6 sets that included video, film, art, and performances by actors, dancers and DJs, which the viewer explored like a labyrinth (at both Zeitgeist Theatre and One X Club).  For details of production see links right.

Julie made montages based on religion, mass media, insanity and image.  The film montages were projected live with corresponding fashion scenes and the video montages were looped on 4 video monitors in the adjacent art gallery room.

The tape recorder (original script) is replaced by a TV (video projector), periodically displaying Krapp at age 39 (based on script cues for tape recorder). After The Last Tape original video by Julie looped in the adjacent bar.

Worldwide problems, consumerism, identity crisis, apathy and death (Individual Film Project for Wayne State University).  Installation composed of several video, film & mirrored projections & art. Corresponding sound & dialogue from videos were controlled by Julie and used as cues for Gwen's live performance.   Also, Anouk and Gwen acted in original video by Julie that looped in the installation.   For details of production see links right.

Nude Poets: Sky & Lester

Based on Jerry Mander's book, "Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television", 10 interactive sets were designed emphasizing his book's theme: (1) Tv Living Room - Video of a woman's journal regarding her passive/apathetic Tv behavior (2) Art Theatre - 16mm film w/sexual content - better things to do than watch Tv! (3) Product/Garbage - 16mm film displaying subliminal commercials (4) Nature - mediated enviroment back to nature (5) Capture Image - various types of media capturing tools like cameras, computers, etc. (6) Edit Image - same film from set #2 edited differently (7) Alpha States - the state one is in when watching Tv (8) Manipulated Image - continuation of video theme in set #1, only manipulated into a music video (9) Living room w/out Tv (10) Playroom - returning to the spirit of childhood imagination.  The nude poets casually strolled around the sets sometimes interacting with the spectators.  For details of production see links right.

Various short to feature length 16mm films with & without live musical accompaniments by local Detroit bands.  Sometimes Julie costumed herself to the film theme (image left).  She designed some of the film flyers and sign displays and started experimenting with film mixing.
