DR VoltairEAM (DREAM Voltaire) : an original & remix work for the Festival about Voltaire. Made in a dreamlike, surreal, kitsch and political style using excerpts from his book, Micromegas, various related images and films, historical information and statistical data from Standford University. The video was mapped to Voltaire's old theater, La Maison Fusier. Direction: Philippe Pellier.
TECHNICAL PROBLEMS :
One of the two video projectors died just before the show started. So it was re-mapped live with only one video projector while the spectactors waited. The image didn't cover the entire length of the building, was distorted a bit and lacked in brightness and in contrast (also because of some lights on inside the building). Ideally it would have been nice to have had three to four video projectors, but only two were possible so then they had to be angled inward crossing over one another to cover all five sides of the building.
