Created for Roy Brooks & the Aboriginal Percussion Choir Ensemble of New York for the Museum's grand opening.

I started projecting and mixing 16mm films for Roy Brooks in 1996. I also videotaped and photographed our shows together. For this performance I created a 3 screen 16mm film mix. Each reel was a montage of educational film excerpts that I edited together from various topics. The films were projected at the same time, but do not run in perfect sync with each other.

The live audio was not recorded so I chose 3 tracks from Roy's Black Survival album to use for this film mix. For better quality I replaced the live footage of the mix with a previous videotape of it at my loft and with the digital film transfers.

Note: During the live show I was unable to play with the focus to the beat of the music nor use gels due to the circumstances of the projection booth setup.

Tools & Equipment: Three 16mm film projectors, 16mm splicer, old camcorder, etc.
