Manipulating effects in camcorder to
both the music and performer live.

I was hired to videotape the event.
There was no video projector, so my
live mix was seen after the fact.

why do I put this under VJ-ing then?

Because in my opinion, it was the early
days of the new camcorders with built-in
effects that you could manipulate live
while shooting!

The camcorder I used was not mine, but
later I bought a Sony digital 8mm and
there was an accessible effects knob
on the exterior that I rotated with my
thumb while shooting.

I videotaped many bands/DJs in Detroit
like this - without video projectors
because they were extremely expensive
and huge and not common in bars/clubs
at the time.
